babysitter note

This is our oldest and only son, John.  He is twenty now and off at college and I have found myself praying daily for his soul.  Maybe this is something mom's naturally do when their kids leave the nest. I feel like now that he is out of my control, I need to let God know what he really needs, you know, like a parent who leaves notes for the babysitter.

Dear God,
Here are a few things that may help you as you are watching John.
1. Make sure that when he finishes his college that he has a great career put out for him.  Something creative that he loves to do so he can enjoy his time.
2. He loves his toys and they will keep him distracted from being worried, however, help  him make good decisions about his choices so he doesn't get overly stimulated or overwhelmed with life and having to clean it up. He needs to clean up his messes so he learns responsibility (but you can help him a little).
3. He doesn't like to be alone so please put someone in his life that provides him happiness. That will help him sleep better.
4. If he chooses to play with the other kids in the neighborhood watch him carefully.  Some of them can be mean and tricky.
5. Feed his soul with hopes and dreams so this crazy world doesn't give him an upset stomach.

Thanks again for watching John for the rest of his life.  If you have any questions, you know where to find me and I'll be right there to help you out.  Enjoy!

OK yes, I understand.  God is in control and always has been in control.  John has always been God's and always will be so much that God is deep inside the very best part of him.  That is how it is for all of us.  So how do we teach our kids to find God in their soul so they feel whole and certain and strong?    We are made to find God within us  and share the very best parts of us with others just as God has shared the very best part of Himself with us.

This blog is dedicated to helping those who are care for kids of all ages to connect with their soul so life may be just a little more filled with joy, peace, hope and love.
